Revive Us Again

Revive Us Again
Religious historians in the U.S. often point to the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial as the high water mark for American fundamentalism. Publicly humiliated by Clarence Darrow`s rhetorical skewering of their standard bearer, William Jennings Bryan, fundamentalists began a long period of retreat into near-invisibility. In the wake of World War II, when America experienced a national shift toward religion, the movement found itself ideally positioned to resurface. Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005. For personal use only.
